Twas the Night Before the Holiday Card Was Due…
The Tech Elves at Primacy were hard at work building some of the most sophisticated web apps in the market. Then Stanta Claus called with an idea about building a Generative AI based holiday card generator for all the good little boys and girls in the B2B world. The experience would ask questions and then utilize Large Language models to make a festive digital card with a custom image and poem they could then share. One challenge that the Elves had to solve quick? AI doesn’t really know which words and images are naughty or nice. Luckily a solution came in a flash—the use of reference images in prompts would quickly guide the AI model to generate images and words that would keep Stanta happy in spite of himself.
Stanta’s Workshop started cranking like never before!
Staying Off Stanta’s Naughty List
Stanta’s Need for Speed
While the elves got a proof-of-concept faster than Stanta up the chimney, the AI generation speed was proving to be a bit of a bah humbug. DALLE-3 was simply too slow for multiple simultaneous users, so after some testing we landed on MidJourney – which reduced generation time by over 50%.
AI Jargon Definitions
Generative AI
Traditional AI was geared towards solving specific tasks such as analyzing data to make predictions. Newer Generative AI leverages machine learning to understand, predict, and develop new, original content from data.
Advanced Prompt Engineering
A technique that gives a preset list of options/choices to the user, which are then translated in the backend code to give generate specific outputs; In this case we’re generating specific and unique prompts for the Generative AI.
LLM
(Large Language Model) is a specialized type of AI that is capable of understanding language and content and then generating original text-based content. Dalle/Midjourney are LLMs that go step further to map text input to create original images.
